Covid-19 Update

During the ongoing pandemic we are taking this opportunity to remind people of our current procedures:-
People are free to move home, however the process of finding and moving into a new home is different, as those involved in the process need to adapt practices and procedures to ensure that the risk of spreading coronavirus is reduced as far as possible. MEES

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)

The Dorset Council MEES team have recently said It is the Councils opinion that Listed Buildings are not automatically exempt from the need to obtain an EPC for renting purposes. Buildings protected as part of a designated environment or because of their special architectural or historical merit are exempt from the requirements to have an energy performance certificate insofar as compliance with minimum energy performance requirements would unacceptably alter their character or appearance. Therefore only once an EPC is obtained and the recommended works identified can the property be properly exempted.
